PROS to Present at Grace Hopper Conference, World’s Largest Gathering of Women in Tech
The three-day event is returning to Houston and is set to have more than 20,000 participants
HOUSTON, September 25, 2018 – PROS® (NYSE: PRO), a provider of AI-powered solutions that optimize selling in the digital economy, today announced its participation in the Grace Hopper Conference for Women in Computing. Scheduled for Sept. 26-28 in Houston at the George R. Brown Convention Center, the conference gathers female technologists to discuss career opportunities, industry trailblazers, and professional development.
“PROS has always worked to be a place where women in technology can thrive, follow their passions, and make an impact worldwide,” said PROS President and CEO Andres Reiner. “This is the largest group of speakers we’ve had from PROS represented at Grace Hopper, including a number from BLAZE, the PROS women’s network, and we could not be prouder to support the conference’s mission.”
“Conference attendees can meet with PROS’ speakers and BLAZE members at a reception hosted by PROS to learn more about the company, our culture and their experiences working for Houston’s largest publicly traded technology company,” stated Reiner.
Five PROS representatives are set to deliver presentations or moderate panels at the conference:
- Jennifer Plummer, Manager, Product Development, will moderate a panel titled, “Architect: A Great Career or the Greatest Career?” Architects can influence application development and how software engineers transition into technical leaders. Women architects will be introduced in this panel and share their experiences with the audience.
- Eunice Yang, User Experience Researcher, Kieu Tran, User Experience Designer, and Daniel Rutledge, Senior Software Engineer, will join forces to speak at, “So Many Features, So Little Time.” In this workshop, the trio will help participants understand project management and what it is like to be part of a software product team. Attendees will learn about balancing resources, juggling customer demands, delivering products in a timely manner, and creating contingency plans for overcoming unexpected obstacles.
- Deepthi Venkatachalam, Quality Engineer Lead, will deliver a Mentoring Circle session titled, “Eat. Sleep. Test. Repeat: Software Testing as an Enticing Career Option.” The session will take a deeper dive into a question Computer Science graduates often face: Do you prefer a testing role or a development role? Venkatachalam will discuss how to best answer that question from the perspective of a Test Engineer.
In conjunction with the event, BLAZE and Pride@PROS, PROS LGBTQIA+ employee resource group, will jointly host a networking reception on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 4:30 – 6:30 P.M. at MKT Bar in downtown Houston. To participate, click here.
